Samantha Mikita, a member of Through the 3rd Eye's editorial board, is a freshman at GVSU. She contributed to the website article, "A Book Young Poets Should Own: Ted Kooser's "The Poetry Home Repair Manual", has published a number of her poems nationally, and, along with Rachel
Talen, the editor of Through the 3rd Eye, has won First Place in the nation in a poetry contest sponsored by the Voice of Youth Advocates (VOYA), a bimonthly library journal.
