Icicles—A Collection of Haikus

Dreary, so patient
Slow, plodding on forever
to receive beauty.
Glittering, shining,
Scary, especially when
used for spikes on forts.
Little brothers use
them as swords to drive me to
the inside shelter.
Up close they're deformed,
lumpy, crooked, not pure but
far back—amazing
from the road, sport-
ing diamond pillars that turn
houses to castles.
