Blue Wool Blanket

Textured fabric creates a blue avalanche
down my hands. Complexity
never came to me when I sewed
with the color blue. I simply pinch
my needle between strands of fabric.
Mother puts her love into her hands
as she touches my shoulders.
The fabric I clothe my hands with
will go to my grandma far away,
who needs to sequester herself
in the wool of a homemade blanket.
