The many faces it takes on.
At the top of a hill,
two love-crazed teenagers try to gaze at their future.
In the back of a car, a child awakes
to the assurance of the dark, drizzly outline.
A shooting star rides past, and a man wishes he could hop on
and catch a ride to the last step to heaven, the moon.
The moon can cast an uneasy paleness over a cemetery
or a tranquil gleam of hope on any dream.
In the middle of town a scary movie is being shot by
the howl of a dog and the hum of the moon.
