The clouds are submitting
rain in a light drizzle.
The aftermath has created
a perpetual stream under
my steps.
The miniature individual
streams curve slowly
across each other
in a braided pattern
into the opposing stream ahead.
They collide and recede into
nearby drains.
The damp air compresses upon
every living thing looming under
its weight,
and the heat in the sky is astray.
I lug my teary jacket closer
to my body, which shivers against
the cool
morning gust and escort
the streams back
to my gloomy house.
