Tyler Steimle

Tyler Steimie, 23-years-old, writes, "I'm constantly obsessed with music and literature in a rather disorderly schizophrenic manner. I formerly played bass guitar for local pop/rock group The Outer Vibe, appearing on a number of tracks off of their 2006 release "Games We Play". I sporadically do tech work, and occasionally, rhythm guitar work for The Verve Pipe. I currently play lead guitar for pop/rock act Bowery, composed of members of Moto, Glean Infusion, Fred Thompson Trio, and Papa Vegas. I have an Associate in Arts degree from Grand Rapids Community College where I was mentored by resident poet David Cope. I worked as Poetry Editor for three semesters on GRCC's arts & literature magazine, Display. I have been published numerous times in this yearly magazine, winning a 2nd place award in Poetry for their 2005 writing competition. Also in 2005, I self-published my first chapbook of poetry, entitled "Affinity". I live in my grandmother's old house in a quiet part of northeast Grand Rapids with my family, Cassandra, our daughter Matilyn, and our two cats. I'm currently attending GVSU, majoring in English Education and am working on another chapbook, as yet untitled."
