Moses and Me

After I'm home from school,
Moses' automatic tail twitches
to find me. I am hugging him
in my medium-sized arms,
Moses and me going to sleep.
Then the bed is moving
into space, slipping through
the stars, with Moses
right beside me, past the moon,
sun, and Pluto, the planets saying
hello, like water dripping
from a sink. We turn around
and land on the moon,
seeing all the ice, then seeing
ice skates on a bank of snow.
In shock, I am putting them on,
floating and doing flips, then fall
down into my bed, waking up
and asking Moses if he had
the same dream. He nods his little
head, showing his peanut butter chin.
